Last updated: April 29, 2026Flip NG values your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our platform.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly:
- Name, email address, phone number
- Account preferences and password
- Listings, messages, reviews
We also collect data automatically:
- Device and browser type
- IP address and location (for security)
- Usage patterns and interactions on Flip
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Connect you with other users (buyers/listers/requesters)
- Process transactions and disputes
- Improve our services and platform performance
- Send you updates, notifications, and promotions (you can opt out)
We do not use your information to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not share your personal data with data brokers or advertising networks for cross-app tracking purposes.
3. How We Protect Your Data
- All user data is encrypted in transit and stored securely.
- We do not sell your information to third parties.
- Access is limited to authorized Flip team members.
4. Sharing Information
We may share minimal information:
- With payment processors for completing transactions
- With law enforcement when legally required
- With service providers who help us run Flip (e.g. hosting, analytics)
5. Third-Party AI Processing
Flip uses Google Gemini (the Gemini API, provided by Google LLC) to:
- Transcribe voice recordings — when you record a request by voice, the audio file is sent to Google Gemini and converted into text.
- Suggest a request category — the resulting transcript (or the text you typed) is sent to Google Gemini to extract a short title, a cleaned description, a category, and an estimated budget so the request is routed correctly within the marketplace.
What is sent to Google: the audio file you recorded for the request, and/or the request text itself.
What is NOT sent to Google: your name, email address, phone number, account identifier, precise location, GPS coordinates, contacts, photos, payment information, or device identifiers.
How Google handles the data: data is processed under Google's Gemini API terms (ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms) and is not used by Google to train its models. Google provides protections substantially equivalent to those described in this policy for data sent through the paid Gemini API.
Your control: AI processing only runs after you explicitly consent in the app. The first time a feature would send data to Google Gemini, the app asks for your permission. You can revoke that permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → AI processing. Turning AI processing off disables voice requests and skips AI category suggestions; you can still post requests by typing and choosing a category manually.
We do not use any other third-party AI service. We do not sell or share data with AI providers for advertising, profiling, or model training.
6. Your Rights
- You can update or delete your data anytime via your settings.
- You can request to deactivate or permanently delete your account.
- You can opt out of promotional emails or messages.
7. Cookies & Tracking
Flip may use cookies or tracking tools to:
- Remember your preferences
- Improve site experience
- Analyze traffic anonymously
You can disable cookies in your browser settings if you prefer.
8. Policy Updates
We may update this policy periodically. If major changes occur, we'll notify you via email or on the platform.
